Oh, damn.

As amusing as this is, I think it’s overly condescending to people who didn’t read the books. The movie’s success with that demographic (which makes up a large number of friends of mine that liked the movie) is only going to spur the book sales further and create new fans. Small asides like this and the scenes with President Snow allowed for establishment of facts that you can’t get when we lose Katniss’s inner monologue.

And yes, I realize most of you probably know this. But I’ve encountered enough bull-headed fans that were so angry this stuff was in the movie, that I felt the need to rant.

when all you want to do is break down and forget the world for a few days, get someone to just tell you everything will be okay and you’re just a little stressed, and all that. Except, you’re the one whose job it is to do that for all of your friends, and they never actually are the ones who do it for you. So much so, that you actually feel awkward going to them, or letting them.

This has been an awkwardly rambling, whiny post. Because I am mega-stressed right now and just have no idea how to handle it.
